Due to heavy rains, the low water bridge near Skukuza on the H1-2 was closed on the 11 January 2026.

If you are travelling in southern Kruger alternative travel routes is required.

If you are travelling from Skukuza north to Tshokwane and Satara, the H12 Road and bridge over the Sabie river is the fastest and recommended route.

The same detour applies if you are travelling from Paul Kruger Gate, Phabeni Gate, Numbi Gate, Malalane Gate, Berg-en-dal Camp, Pretorius Camp, Nkambeni Lodge, Mdluli Lodge or Rhino Post Lodge.

If you are travelling from Crocodile Bridge Gate or Camp, north to Tshokwane, Satara Camp and beyond, the fastest road remains the H10.

The low water bridge was still open on the 11th January, but we recommend you contact the SANParks before travelling to monitor the situation.

If you are travelling from KMIA, Gauteng or the Panorama route consider entering directly from more northern gate like Orpen Gate.
