About ilanda Guest House
ilanda Guest House is a family-owned guest house in White River, Mpumalanga, welcoming guests since 2014.
It is graded 4-star by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA) and is a Level 1 B-BBEE business.
The guest house is on a 9-hectare smallholding about 5 minutes from White River town, surrounded by other smallholdings and a macadamia farm. Its 10 units are spread across four buildings in a large garden.
They range from standard rooms to self-catering units and a 4-bedroom apartment.
Most of the property is open space: a garden of indigenous trees and shrubs, two swimming pools with lapas, grassland, and a dam 500 m from the rooms with a cabin on stilts. Birds and small wildlife such as duiker, dwarf mongoose and scrub hare live on the property.
The guest house is run with sustainability in mind:
-
Solar and battery backup power for the whole property
-
Refillable soap and shampoo dispensers instead of disposable bottles
-
Ongoing planting of indigenous trees and shrubs
-
Food waste is recycled using Bokashi and Black Soldier Fly methods
Sister establishment Halleria Self Catering, on the same property, offers budget and long-stay accommodation.
Altogether we can host groups of up to 45 guests.
