Lace up your running shoes and head to the Riverside Reserve in Mbombela for the GRBI/Mbombela June Fun Run on Saturday, 7 June 2025—a joyful celebration of World Environment Day filled with fresh air, fitness, and family fun.
Organised by the Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative (GRBI), the City of Mbombela, and community partners, the event features both 3km and 4.9km fun run/walk options, perfect for all fitness levels. Registration opens at 07:00, and the race kicks off at 08:00.

About the Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative (GRBI)
The Riverside CID is a mixed use area between Nelspruit and White River, comprising Riverside Park and Riverside Industrial. This land was originally owned by Halls Properties.
The Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative (GRBI) is a programme to establish an interconnected web of green spaces, approximately 280 hectares in the area. It includes the new Riverside Reserve, The Lowveld Botanical Garden and include both the Crocodile River and Nels River.
