The Panorama Route is in both Mpumalanga Province and Limpopo province. It offers countless hiking opportunities, both well-known and hidden gems. If you feel adventurous and want to discover less trodden trails contact the hiking clubs below for guided hiking in the Panorama Escarpment.

Maruleng Hiking Club

The Maruleng Hiking Club maintains two trails in the escarpment.

Ga-Ditsepu Trail

The Ga-Ditsepu Trail is a 4 hours out and back trail, may be longer if you do not have a 4x4 to access the trailhead.

Fees are payable to the Tribal Authority and the Maruleng Hiking Club.

The other trail is called Makgaung Hiking Trail. Check their facebook page for photos.

Sehlohlolong Hiking Trails

Phiring Hiking Club maintains and guides on the Sehlohlolong Hiking Trails close to Abel Erasmus pass. The trails offer beautiful views on the Blyde River Canyon, the Escarpment and Lowveld below.

Entrance fee for day hikes is R100 and multi-day hikes are also available. Check their website for off the beaten path hiking on the Panorama Route.

Hiking Clubs

If you are looking for a group to go hiking and hang out with locals. Check out the planned outings of local Hiking Clubs. Most are an open and welcoming bunch and travel to different trails in the region including the Panorama Route.
