From White River, you have two options to Sudwala Caves both a quick 50km drive taking about 45 minutes through scenic Mpumalanga countryside.
Option 1 is to head south on the R40 towards Mbombela (Nelspruit) for roughly 15km. Near the N4 highway intersection, take the R539 exit north signposted for Sudwala Caves. Follow this well-marked road for 9km past rolling hills until you see cave signage leading over a bridge and onto a 1.7km tarred access road ending at secure parking.
Option 2, our preferred option is travelling directly from White River to Sudwala Caves is to turn right onto R537 in direction of Sabie, then the first left towards the R37 for Brondal, then onto R539. This route is scenic and has little traffic. You can return via the R40 and visit sighs in Nelspruit.
