What activities are available at God's Window?

There are no organised activities at God's Window. Everything here is self-guided. You can take in the panoramic views, walk the path up through the rainforest to look for rare plants such as Streptocarpus fenestra-dei, and go bird watching.

If you're after organised or adventure activities, the Graskop Gorge Lift and the Sudwala Caves are both easy stops on the Panorama Route.

Enjoying nature at God's Window

The walk from the main viewpoint up through the rainforest to the top is one of the best parts of a visit. More than 300 plant species have been recorded around God's Window on iNaturalist. 

They include orchids such as the Fringed Madonna Orchid (Stenoglottis fimbriata) and the Soft Ghost Orchid (Habenaria malacophylla), along with White Sagebush (Syncolostemon albiflorus), Drooping Blue Lilies (Agapanthus inapertus) and Real Yellowwood (Podocarpus latifolius).

Five Streptocarpus species grow here, including S. fenestra-dei. Its name is Latin for "God's Window" because it was named after this spot.

Birding at God's Window

The forest and cliffs attract a wide range of birds. 

Some of the less common ones to watch for are Barratt's Warbler, Olive Bushshrike and Yellow-streaked Greenbul.
