Ohrigstad Dam Nature Reserve

Ohrigstad Dam Nature Reserve is a scenic provincial park located on the edge of the Greater Drakensberg escarpment, west of Pilgrim’s Rest in Mpumalanga. The reserve protects the waters of Ohrigstad Dam and surrounding grassland and mountain habitats. It is well known for angling, hiking, boating and birdwatching, with more than 200 bird species recorded, including raptors associated with escarpment environments. Its location close to the Panorama Route makes it a convenient and peaceful stop for visitors exploring the region’s natural and historic attractions.
